Funmi received an LL. B Hons in 1989 from the University College, Cardiff, Wales and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1996.
Her extensive experience in Oil and Gas was garnered working with Niger Delta Group,Sahara Group and BG Group (formerly British Gas). In Sahara, Funmi was responsible for setting up the upstream arm of the business.

She also had responsibility for strategic development; and identifying investment opportunities and growth prospects. At BG, (where she was pioneer staff), her responsibilities included Venture Relations, External Affairs and Business Development. From 2011, as Principal Consultant in Levmora Services Limited, Funmi served as a Consultant to international and indigenous organisations in Oil & Gas, Research and Financial sectors.

She was responsible for maintenance of high level governmental relationships, including Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Ministry of Petroleum Resources (MPR), Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Nigerian Content and Development Monitoring Board, governmental agencies and the oil and gas industry. In addition, she was also responsible for managing Levmora’s joint venture with the CWC Group; covering highly specialised training and conferences; including key annual events in Nigeria;such as the Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference and Practical Nigerian Content Conference.

Funmi has a proven track record of international upstream, midstream and downstream business development, legal and external relationship management delivery. Her expertise is in Government Relations, Business Development, Stakeholder Engagement, Joint Venture Management, Company Secretarial, Media and External Relations Management, Contractual Arrangements, Negotiation, Training and Conferences.

She is a member of various professional bodies including the Nigerian Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Secretary and Administrators UK.
Currently serving as Company Secretary and Legal Counsel, Funmi joined Petrolex Oil & Gas Limited in January 2018.
