Modupe obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Lagos in 1991, and thereafter an MBA in Information Technology Management from the City University Business School, London.
She began her career at the Lagos Business School as a Research Analyst, after which she veered into banking for a period of 10 years; working withCitibank Nigeria and FCMB Plc.
During her time in the banking industry, she held various leadership positions in Private Banking, Retail and Commercial Banking, and Corporate Banking, with her last role as Head of Oil and Gas.
Modupe has also worked in the Oil and Gas Sector, with Schlumberger Network Solutions and Sahara Energy, where she had responsibility for Strategic Investments and Asset Management. She left Sahara to join Phillips Consulting Limited in 2007 as a Partner in charge of recruitment.

She joined Hygeia Group in April 2010 as Head of Group Corporate Services with full responsibilities for Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Business Development and oversight responsibility for Legal and Regulatory Affairs.
In October 2011, she took on more direct responsibilities for HR in Lagoon Hospitals, a network of 5 hospitals and 10 worksite clinics and with a staff strength exceeding 800.
She was instrumental in the development of an incentive system for Consultants, and for meeting the Joint Commission International (JCI) certification requirements for credentialing and privileging of all medical related staff. She also had direct responsibilities for ensuring efficiency through the maintenance of appropriate staff ratios.
Modupe joined Petrolex in August 2014.
