Olukayode Kayoko Adelaja was born 49 yrs ago, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His career in the construction, building automation, and Telemetry systems industries, nationally and internationally spans 28 yrs. Armed with, among other skills, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Building from the University of Lagos, Akoka (1987-1992), his working career has seen him handle projects for some of Nigeria’s construction industry’s best companies such as Costain West Africa, G Cappa Plc, Sageto Nigeria Limited and Sakamori Nigeria Limited; both as a member of staff in the first two and as a sub-contractor on major projects for the latter two. He has also worked in his business career as a consultant/contractor to multinationals such as Nigerite Limited, Schlumberger, NLNG, Dangote, Silverbird Group, The Federal Government of Nigeria, Rivers State Government.
A proficient and passionate infrastructure development specialist whose drive for Construction, Engineering Fabrication and Automaton/Telemetry has led to his involvement in numerous local and international projects.
He is the owner of Avnar Systems, Arcpine Limited and is a shareholder/ Director at Comenergy, a company that pioneered telemetry solutions in the telecoms sector in Nigeria. Internationally, he was part of the training team for technical experts with Inala of South Africa for the training and introduction of SAM 2, which he served on the development team.
His relationship with Petrolex Oil & Gas started in 2009 as a consultant for the procurement and deployment of a telemetry system (FMS) for the control and monitoring of product logistics and went on to handle the following:
- Conception and Development of the Petrolex Mega Oil City
- Set up OET as a construction subsidiary of Petrolex.
- Conception and development of the Petrolex Complete Value Chain Plan
- Setup of Petrolex Guinea
- Development of a Pipeline & Storage products distribution systems for The Republic of Guinea
- Setup of Syli Petroleum Guinea
- Conception and Development of the Avon 4 Deep Sea Port Project, Ogun State
- Conception and Development of the Ilaje Integrated Mining Port Project, Ondo State
In the last 4 years, he has served as the Group Executive Director Engineering and is a Director of most of its subsidiaries. His experience in business, product and infrastructure development has led him to set up new companies to pursue these interests in under-tapped sectors.
